SofIA’s clinical chat provides an intelligent conversational assistant designed specifically to support medical practice during consultations. It uses SofIA’s cognitive framework to respond to clinical queries with contextualized information.

Chat-only mode setup

To use SofIA as a pure chat assistant without report generation, omit template and templateid:
<sofia-sdk
  baseurl="https://YOUR_BASE_URL"
  wssurl="wss://YOUR_WSS_URL"
  apikey="your-api-key"
  userid="doctor-001"
  patientid="patient-001"
></sofia-sdk>
No additional configuration is needed. The generate button is hidden automatically when template and templateid are absent.
The isonlychat property is deprecated and has no effect. Chat-only mode is now determined automatically based on the absence of template/templateid.

Main features

Consultation context

The chat has access to the current consultation context:
  • Real-time transcription: Information from the ongoing doctor-patient conversation
  • Patient data: Provide patient context via the patientdata property — see Patient Data for the complete structure
  • Current documentation: Notes and findings from the present consultation

Assistant capabilities

Contextualized responses

Provides specific medical information based on the patient’s context and current consultation.

Clinical reasoning

Uses specialized agents to assist in differential diagnosis and clinical verification.

Consultation integration

Knows the current context: symptoms, examinations, and findings from the ongoing session.

Medical knowledge

Powered by SofIA’s built-in medical knowledge base. Custom sources can be configured — contact support@omniloy.com.

Typical use cases

  • Differential diagnosis queries: Explore possible diagnoses based on symptoms and findings observed during the consultation
  • Treatment verification: Get information about therapeutic options considering the patient’s context, history, and current medication
  • Drug interaction checks: Identify possible interactions or contraindications based on the patient’s current medication

Important notes

  • Does not replace clinical judgment: SofIA is an informational support tool. The healthcare professional maintains complete responsibility for all medical decisions.
  • Context dependent: Response quality depends on available information. Include relevant patient data via patientdata for best results.
  • Requires validation: Always verify important recommendations against institutional protocols and established clinical guidelines.
  • Privacy: Only include data relevant to the consultation. Use information already available in patientdata rather than entering sensitive details in the chat.
  • Medical knowledge: SofIA includes a built-in medical knowledge base. Custom knowledge sources can be configured for your organization — contact support@omniloy.com to discuss options. Response quality improves with more specific sources for your specialty.
